(BUSINESS WIRE) -- Mindspeed Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ:
MSPD), a leading supplier of semiconductor solutions for
network infrastructure applications, today announced that
the Security Gateway Solution (SGS) from TeamF1, Inc.
(www.TeamF1.com), the leader in embedded networking and
security software solutions for wired and wireless
applications, is now available on Mindspeed's
Comcerto 1000 packet processor, enabling a new class of
multi-service business gateways (MSBGs) and other converged
appliances. The two companies will be at the Consumer
Electronics Show (CES) this week, demonstrating MSBG
platforms that deliver better performance at a much lower
cost than current enterprise-class gateways.
The combination of TeamF1's SGS with Mindspeed's
high-performance, low-power and cost-effective Comcerto 1000
packet processor family enables a new class of MSBG
platforms and other converged security and IP-private branch
exchange (IP-PBX) appliances. These appliances deliver up to
2 Gbps of network address translation (NAT) and IPSec
performance at a very attractive cost point with low power
consumption. Mindspeed's and TeamF1's combined solution
gives customers everything they need to quickly bring to
market wired and wireless gateways, virtual private network
(VPN) firewall routers and other security appliances that
leverage the TeamF1's SGS software running on Comcerto 1000
VoIP-enabled security processors with Mindspeed's
enterprise-grade VoIP and PBX firmware.

TeamF1's SGS is fully supported on Mindspeed's Comcerto 1000
system-on-chip (SoC) devices, which combine industry-leading
ARM processor technology and application-specific hardware
accelerators for both IPSec and SLL to deliver up to 1 Gbps
of symmetric IPSec or 2 Gbps of aggregate IPSec performance.
Additionally, built-in programmable quality of service (QoS)
accelerators offload cycle and time-intensive packet
processing, which enables Comcerto SoCs to sustain
short-packet gigabit line-rate denial-of-service (DoS)
attacks without interrupting mission-critical applications.
TeamF1's SGS is also complemented by Comcerto's other
modular, companion software, including an extremely
efficient fast packet-forwarding package and a
carrier-class, feature-rich voice package. These packages
are included in a Linux reference standard development kit
(SDK) that is available with the Comcerto 1000. Comcerto
1000 customers also have access to other third-party
software and customer applications.
